Funk The Format

Elle J Small's FUNK THE FORMAT show, supported by the George Payne pub in Hove, features music and interviews from soul, funk, Latin, jazz, reggae, hip hop and beyond. Broadcast Saturday at 7pm, Monday 12midnight, Wednesday 12noon, Thursday 7am, Friday 3pm.

FUNK THE FORMAT's Elle J Small has worked across the globe interviewing superstars, unearthing talent, promoting festivals and playing big, bad tunes.

Brighton-based Elle J (pronounced 'LJ') freelanced as a music journalist for over 10 years, interviewing heaps of artists (Janet Jackson, Nas, Jamoriquai, to name but a few) for numerous publications and organisations, including The Observer, The Face, BBC and Blues & Soul.

Today you'll find Elle J handpicking trapeze artists and live bands for her FUNK THE FAMILY FESTIVALS and FUNK THE FORMAT events, between the school run and recording her RADIO REVERB show.
