Make Radio
RadioReverb 97.2 FM is your station and you can make radio for broadcast.
There's a number of ways to make radio with Reverb, but we've just taken on a number of new programmes so if you want to get involved, get in touch about producing some short features – we’re after lots of these at the moment so there’s plenty of scope here.
Make Shorts
'Shorts' are short radio features which get played out all across the week on RadioReverb. You can do interviews, reviews, features, original performances, almost anything really as long as you made it and it is between 2 and 5 minutes. You can submit your 'shorts', on CD, to the station at any time. Make sure your CD is labelled and please enclose a cue sheet which you can download here. We cannot return these to you so please don't send original recordings. For more information about our 'Shorts', please read the Shorts Guidance or contact us.
Make Programmes
RadioReverb is always interested in new ideas for regular shows, one-offs or series to broadcast. To submit your idea please download and read the Guidelines carefully. You should then complete the Proposal form along with the Equal Opportunities monitoring form, and submit them both either by post or email. (Note: the Equal Opportunities form is for data gathering purposes only)
We are keen to hear all your ideas and are currently very interested in programmes and content such as:
- specialist music programmes that are not featured on existing local radio stations (this includes our current schedule)
- comedy and original writing, drama and spoken word;
- experimental sound art;
- programmes that focus on the specific activities and pastimes of groups within the city eg. gardening, cooking etc;
- local issue-led programmes;
- programmes made by and for people in specific neighbourhoods;
- black and ethnic minority programmes;
- non- English language programmes;
- programmes that actively involve those marginalised within the community
If your proposal is for a regular on-going programme, it will be looked at;
a) when individual programme slots become available and/or
b) at the annual schedule review
One-off shows and specials may be considered by the programme manager and curator at any time.
If you have any queries please email the programme manager or telephone us on 01273 323040.
Get involvedRadioReverb offers a number of opportunities for people to get involved as reviewers and reporters making Shorts, helping out on radio programmes and volunteering at the station. These opportunities are for over 18s only. If you would like to get involved, please send us letter explaining why and outlining your education and experience to date.
